Building a Foundation for Growth in the Community College Market

Across North America, I have always admired the education opportunities that community colleges provide to students of all socioeconomic backgrounds. State funding and government support of these institutions is a testament to America’s dedication to making higher education more accessible to students. The more community colleges I have the pleasure of working with, the more I appreciate their focus on workforce development specific to their region’s needs.

When I joined Campus Management as the Chief Marketing Officer, I recognized right away how our history and growth in the career education market evolved to support the needs of community colleges, as well as other institutions looking to expand their online presence.

In the past year, we have seen our current community college clients thrive with our solutions and an array of new clients join our Campus Management family. New community college partners include Del Mar College, Flathead Valley Community College, Oregon Community College Consortium, and Pasco-Hernando State College.

We had the pleasure of having Dr. Melissa Harts, Pasco-Hernando State College Vice President of Technology and Distance Education join a company meeting and talk about the recent selection process they underwent. She said, “One of the reasons we selected Campus Management is that they were more interested in Pasco-Hernando State College than selling their solutions. Our Provosts were also impressed with their teamwork, and we have continued to experience their positive team dynamic as we move forward into implementation.”

A client since 2016, Central Arizona College has been gaining student success results for the past couple of years; however, in the last year they have had a breakout year. They recently discussed some of their student successes in a recent American Association of Community College blog post - Improving the Student Experience.

“Since we initiated our partnership with Campus Management, we’ve experienced transformation across the institution. From relieving our financial aid staff with financial aid automation to reaching students with personalized communications through our new CRM, we are excited to keep reaping the benefits of our new solution set,” said Central Arizona College President and CEO Jackie Elliott. “We are constantly looking at the horizon for new ways to innovate on behalf of students. Currently, we are implementing CampusNexus Occupation Insight to help students choose their program of study and to learn more about their future careers.”

Community colleges have never seen so much opportunity to serve people in need of upskilling and reskilling as they do today. After all, nearly 40 percent of US jobs are in occupational categories that could shrink between now and 2030, according to the McKinsey Global Institute report, The Future of Work in America.
